Celebrating 61: My Unforgettable Photoshoot Adventure in Tunisia

This trip to Tunisia was more than just a holiday—it was an opportunity I didn't want to miss. For the past year, I’ve been investing in myself, focusing on my health and fitness, and I wanted to celebrate that journey. Tunisia gave me the perfect chance to see myself at my best, in a way I hadn’t before.

When I arrived, I found my photographer was based right at the hotel. He knew all the best spots and suggested I wear something that would really pop in photos. I knew exactly which dress to choose! Walking through the hotel, I felt every eye on me, and for once, I didn’t mind. People kept stopping to tell me how fabulous I looked. 🤭 I’m not used to being the center of attention, but in that moment, I was.

The photoshoot itself was uplifting and empowering. My photographer showed me how to strike different poses, which felt funny at first, but soon I got the hang of it. This is what 61 looks like—and proof that you’re never too old to experience something like this. It’s a confidence boost and an uplifting experience I think every Black woman should have.

Sharing those beautiful photos with my family back home made it even more special.
